The resolutions were a little too pat, and the hero's personal life modeled Nelson's a little too closely (again!), but i still found myself reading through the entire series, groaning when I reached the last one and realized the author was in no condition to finish the series

Found the Ramage novels years ago and enjoyed them, although I found the way he always finds a way round with a few men against overwhelming odds a bit unrealistic at times. No one on his side ever seems to get hurt. When I discovered Buccaneer I was hooked on the Yorke series, I just love the humour in it, particularly when Ned and Whetstone are baiting the governor.
