Tom Grundner

Post by Alaric Bond on Thu 15 Sep 2011, 12:18

Sorry to report that Tom Grundner died on Sunday. Besides being a prolific writer he was the driving force behind Fireship Press, a publishing house that has done much to promote nautical fiction and non-fiction. He was also a good friend, despite the fact that we never actually met, and will be greatly missed.

I'm sorry to hear that Alaric, I know what you mean when you have not met a person but still feel close to them.

He will be missed, and more than just his work I am sure.

He will be sadly missed. As Alaric said, despite never meeting him I regarded him as a friend and their are some HNF books that have been published through that friendship that would not have been otherwise. It is good to know that his family and the staff at fireship will be continuing his legacy. My thoughts are with them.

If you didn't know him Tom had a long and distinguished career, not just in the field of fiction. You will find a full obituary at www.historicnavalfiction.com/index.php/general-hnf-info/astrodenes-blog/2432-obituary-tom-grundner-1945-2011
