A Rage for Glory by James Tertius de Kay

Post by 80 Winters on Wed 21 Mar 2012, 05:33

The Life of Commodore Stephen Decatur, USN. "Decatur's dazzling exploits in the Barbary Wars propelled him to national prominence at the age of twenty-five. His dramatic capture of the HMS Macedonianin the War of 1812, and his subsequent naval and diplomatic triumphs in the Mediterranean, secured his permanent place in the hearts of his countrymen........"

"James Tertius de Kay is one of our foremost naval historians.......A Rage for Glory, the first new biography of Decatur in almost seventy years........."

If you're from "the former colony " in which I reside, this is required reading. I've read it and have a copy in my library. Interesting "history".

I hadn't come across this author who seems to have quite a few non-fiction works available. I've added this book to the site and will research and add some more as well to his page over the next few days

Glad to be able to add something to the mix. I've a few more authors in my library that I've not seen here and will endeavor to bring them forward in the near future.
