What was that ships name - Roster of the RN
You "dyed in the wool" readers of the naval genre, whether real or fictional will not only find this interesting, but likely want to preserve the link for your future reference.
But before you open it -- answer this question: How many ships have served in the Royal Navy?
The answer --- I'll bet your guess isn't even close. So Enjoy.

Whilst often good and useful Wikipedia is not regarded as an accurate source for reference purposes and hence it is never referenced on the website. If you are researching a more interesting site, which can be searched to filter results, is
http://threedecks.org though it is still being compiled so not all data is in yet

While I haven't "mined" the threedecks site yet, it would be interesting to compare the RN in the AOS portion of both sites. I will say that I've never seen so extensive a "source" listing as that shown on the threedecks site.
Seems like an extreme level of detail for someone who professes to having done it specifically to enhance "wargaming".
However, I do intend to spend some time looking at what he's put together, if for no other reason than to aplaud his dedication to the task.
