Replica ships

Post by Astrodene on Sat 07 Feb 2009, 12:49

Another link I thought members might enjoy. The site lists all the replica ships that have been built such as the replica Bounty for the movies. http://pages.zoom.co.uk/leveridge/replicas.html

Re: Replica ships

Post by pipester on Sat 07 Feb 2009, 21:25

If you're a student looking for something to do this summer, this internship at Plimoth Plantation (Plymouth, MA) [ http://www.plimoth.org/ ] may be of interest:

Marine: Join Plimoth Plantation's maritime artisans in maintaining and restoring Mayflower II, one of the world's preeminent reproduction ships. Interns will be introduced to the traditional sail-making, rigging and carpentry skills necessary to care for a 50-year-old square-rigged ship. Interns will also occasionally help to sail and row our period small boats, including the 33' shallop and 22' ships boat. Candidates will learn history through hands-on experience and must be willing to assist with all aspects of our work.
