A Mariner of England by William Richardson
Just came accross a reference to this book, originally published in 1908 A Mariner of England: An Account of the Career of William Richardson from Cabin Boy in the Merchant Service to Warrant Officer in the Royal Navy (1780 to 1819) as told by himself.. Original copies seem to be 'edited by' so it is presumably based on a manuscript found and published after his death. It was reprinted in 2000 so copies can be found.
Based on the title sounds like it could be an interesting work
