A Fun iPhone/iPod App for HNF Fans
Has anyone with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch tried this application called "Choice of Broadsides"? It's a very small program which allows you to go through a "choose-your-own-adventure" style story of the type that were once quite popular as young adult books. You start as a young officer in the Napoleonic Wars and can rise through the ranks or lose the number of your mess based on your choices. And you can tell that the application was made with love by someone who is a big fan of the genre. You will find many direct nods to Hornblower and Aubrey throughout. I put it on my iPod as something to play with in those minutes when you are stuck in a doctor's office or the like.

I don't have any of those but it sounds similar to a PC based script that was mentioned previously www.historicnavalfiction.net/the-maintop-f19/write-your-own-naval-fiction-t685.htm

Went on line to start the "Learning experience"...WOW, I must say you don't skim over the narrative. The Devil is in the detail. Just like life...you make a mistate and you're busted.

Corpsman, you are quite right. I played this on my iPod and the first time I was interrupted early on and had to come back en medias res. I got an important life lesson too.
- Spoiler:
- It's definitely best to know where you left on if you are interrupted while loading a cannon.

HHMM, could be fun to have some type of thread or forum for this, have members Vote for what option to pick and so on.
Cheers, any thoughts on this, I just did the first question then thought of something along these lines, then posted this!
