A group reading assignment.
The clock is ticking down to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Douglas Edward Reeman, Lieutenant-Commander RNR, aka Alexander Kent.
I challenge everyone here who has enjoyed his work over the years to read at least two of his books. One of your favorites, and one that you've never read before if possible. If that's not possible then read one from the age of sail and one from the age of screw, steam, and diesel.
Then come back to this thread and tell us all about it.
I'll share a link to this thread with his widow, Kim.
Then on October 15th, 2024 we'll all raise a glass to the memory of that gallant gentleman.
I know that our ranks have been thinned over the years but I hope that all that remain will take up the challenge.
