I'm slowly reading all the volumes in the series. I just finished The Reverse of the Medal. The book is perhaps a little full of adventures than others, but I found a scene that really touched me: when Jack is put in the pillory and all its sailors (simple hubs, officials, midshipmen, captains) were present at his "shame" by living with him with respect and affection, in silence with head uncovered.

Yes, it is a moving scene. Something that POB took from history, but there is nothing wrong in that.
