Welcome to the James L. Nelson discussion

I have only read one book by this author 'The Guardship' which I picked up on a holiday to the states. I enjoyed reading it as it covered a period, the early years of the American colonies that I new little about. Always intended to get some more of his books but haven't got round to it yet.

I accidentally discovered this author ... in Italian have been translated almost all of his books. I read the first in the series "The guardianship." The story is brilliant, lively, well described the main character Thomas Marlowe, the adventure and sea battles, even a slight story of love, friendship and social redemption. I want to continue with the series!

I finished reading the trilogy "The brothers of the coast." The two subsequent books: The blackbirder and The pirate round, I liked very much. There are no stories honeyed or generically pirates, the characters are real, with positive and negative sides, with strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, the three stories have always dramatic side, even to the last book where the protagonist is mutilated and  was killed his best friend is ... beautiful! Now I'll continue with reading other novels by this author. I will write my opinion!

I'm starting to read a second trilogy of James Nelson, "Revolution of the sea." Unfortunately for now I still have not found the first of the series (With the force of arms), but I started with the second, The maddest Idea) ... some of our crew has already read the books by this author? What do you think?

 Yesterday I finished reading The maddest Idea: I got that impression? Very very positive and I am convinced that James Nelson is a really good writer (I've seen that Astrodene has dedicated a space in the last email of narrative). The protagonist of this series is the American captain Isaac Biddlecomb: a normal man, with many fears, but which eventually becomes a hero who dares lot. In this book he is captured by the British, he is free so adventurous, he resumed his ship, even conquers the other two, until the final staggering under the pull of trip of a ship. In the background always emerges the man, with his doubts, but also certainty, and even love for the beautiful Virginia. I look forward to the next!

I finished reading the trilogy: "Revolution of the sea." The two books are entitled: By force of arms "and" The Continental Risque. "I really liked the two novels. The hero, Biddlecomb , is made very well, very human and very sailor. Well as the character is very nice Rumstick: strong and impetuous sailor, devoted to the cause of American independence.
