Yes, I read it and it demonstrates the proofreading deficiencies I talked about in my review of the novels. Still, it's a good read.

The author tells me "The short story was written on a weekend and posted but the work has never been edited by anyone." It is now available for viewing on my site and I've edited the link in the first post.

If you wish to have a go at doing the editors job for free he has no objection though any changed version should not be made public without prior approval

Seeing that he has allowed us the pleasure of reading it for free, I'm not averse to taking an hour or so to proofread it. I just wanted to be sure he would not be put off or insulted by it. Shall I use the email address on his website to send him the result?
